Social Media for Artists

Mondays 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Description

NEW  The practical weekly sessions will help you to understand the opportunities social media offers, how to make it a manageable without detracting from creative output and day to day workloads, and its potential impact on your website traffic, digital channels and sales platforms.

We will be starting from the ground up – looking at what you want to achieve from social and digital media, selecting the right platforms, setting up your profiles, addressing what, when and where to post - with a big focus on content generation and the repurposing of content including moving image and the use of free third party apps.

I will also be sharing tips and techniques to help increase reach and beat the algorithms that affect your posts visibility, blogging opportunities and exhibition and event promotion.

Overall my aim is to share with students the benefits of using social and digital media alongside traditional channels to get your work seen, forge relationships and build a digital archive – through authentic content sharing.

By the end of the twelve week term you will have established solid social media profiles to build on independently.

The classes are not just suitable for visual artists, but writers, others in the creative arts and small business owners.
