Martin studied Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art (MA) and Leeds Arts University (BA). Notable achievements include the Kenneth Armitage Sculpture Award and the Woon Prize.
He is a visiting lecturer at Leeds Arts University and has worked in arts education at several institutes across Glasgow and Leeds.
His own practice works with sculptural phenomena to question our relationship with the quotidian. He uses the language of the readymade to consider the dichotomy between the potential of the counter-intuitive, heterogeneous individual and the mass produced utilitarian object.
