Dominic Blake questions the value institutions place on Life Models
Working with art schools, museums, galleries and privately in studios including those of Royal Academicians, Royal Society of Portrait Painters and New English Art Club, Blake is the Royal Academy’s most widely booked model. Working in Paris and New York, he considers Life Modelling to be a physical mode of artistic expression within which the model uses their body as their medium.
In this talk Blake proposes that life models are indeed artists. With a fascinating series of images and films Blake makes a compelling argument.
