Hampstead and the Camden area have been a great inspiration for artists and writers. With its wealth of blue plaques and charming streets, the magnificent Heath of woodland and meadows sprawling over 800 acres with some of the most spectacular views in the city. John Constable and Walter Sickert were fascinated by it and painted it often.
In this exhibition enjoy paintings inspired by one of Constables favourite locations- the view across the Vale of Health - where Stanley Spencer lived, towards the city of London. The large scale works were created in collaborative ‘en plea air’ painting sessions led by the artist Derek Ogbourne. Other smaller works have been kindly donated to the art school for this fundraising exhibition and include work by Caroline Deane, Tim Benson, Vincent Milne, Tedi Lena
