This intense two day workshop will cover the fundamentals of watercolour painting, and is suitable for all levels. Participants with less experience will be guided through basic colour mixing and paint application exercises, whilst those with more experience will be able to extend and develop their skills further. The work of other artists will be shown throughout the workshop to add contextual value. Day 1 will focus on small individual still life set ups, whilst Day 2 will be about working from a large single group of objects.
The workshop aims to develop an understanding of basic colour mixing and paint application techniques- including shading and tinting , wet on wet, wet over dry , and laying in colour washes.
Allow experimentation with representing texture, and developing mark making strategies.
Develop pictorial skills and compositional acumen.
Improve perception of colour/ tone, form/ structure, and spatial relationships.
