My belief is “Creativity is food for the disabled and damaged”. I volunteer with Café Art and Crisis & I started painting ten years ago when I found myself in prison for a drug offence. I put a nude watercolor in an exhibition and 6 people asked to buy it. I had previously been a successful business woman and Psychotherapist … had lost everything due to addiction. I’ve had a chequered life with long periods of addiction and recovery. I became a professional artist in December 2017 after winning awards and being offered two exhibitions. I belong to the organisation 'Cafe Art’ which is all about creating opportunities and making positive connections for those affected by homelessness within the wider community, the current exhibition at HSoA demonstrates how art liberates us to
become ourselves again.
