Dein talks about here unique process of making and her practice
Dein links almost directly with Leonardo’s Codice Atlantico 1508, the recording of plants collected by botanists, interpreted by her into plaster casts of plants and flowers that record texture, pattern and delicacy in exquisite details. At art school childhood memories combined with this plant based fascination and were influenced by Rodin and Andy Goldsworthy incorporating tactile sculptural elements. Dein talks passionately about magical, deceptively simple moments. Commissioned widely including Chelsea Physic Gardens, Raymond Blanc’s restaurant and Huishan Zhang.
