This collaboration between Verrocchio Art Centre and Hampstead School of Art offers students the opportunity to learn in the picturesque setting of Tuscany.
HSoA tutor Francis Martin will be teaching the painting workshop and Patricia Barker will be teaching the sculpture workshop.
Schedule
Arrival on 27 July at Pisa Airport
Reach Casole d'Elsa at 6pm (usually)
19.30 Drinks on the terrace
20.00 Dinner on the terrace (3 courses with wine)
On the first morning after breakfast, tour the village with Sculptor Nigel Konstam, founder of Verrocchio Art Centre, with historic links to Hampstead.
28 - 30 July Studio Workshops
Workshops take place with a morning and afternoon session.
Long lunch break and then re-start at approx 3.30 pm.
31 July-
Day off in which we offer an optional trip to San Gimignano, Siena or Florence - Nigel Konstam will give an evening lecture on a preceding evening.
Day off can also be used to work in the studios independently.
Evening- a group trip to eat at local restaurant (Cook's night off)
1 - 4 Aug
Studio Workshops continue.
4 Aug-
On the last day before dinner, an informal exhibition of the works created by the students (curated by the tutors) with drinks around 7 pm.
5 Aug
Departure after breakfast to Pisa Airport

Painters, (and sculptors not wanting to buy alabaster , rather working in clay or wax or other) might prefer to take a later flight

Heathrow Airport LHR Departing 13:05 and arriving 16:15 at Pisa International Airport PSA. Verrocchio will arrange the transfer straight to Casole d'Elsa, about 1.5 hrs drive from Pisa.

Cost
Course £400-425 (depending on numbers) to be paid to HSoA.
Accommodation & Food (visit the Verrocchio website as prices vary) to be paid to Verrocchio
Flights to be booked and paid for independently.
For sculptors who plan on carving you will need to have euros available (approx. €30) in order to select your piece of carving stone.
