How does the transition from sketch to paint happen? This workshop will show you the steps needed to gain confidence in developing a completed painting from sketch work.
Tutor, Mick Kirkbride, leads a brilliant and intense 3-day workshop focussing on information gathering to underpin a final painted outcome. The first two days are 'En Plein Air' in the Cemetery immediately surrounding the Lodge or the nearby Fortune Green Park with day three studio-based to develop sketches and studies into a final composition. Students uncomfortable about working in a studio environment can paint outdoors for on day 3 if they wish.
Participants may use any dry media or watercolour.
Workshops explained: The Sequential Development of Creativity
Art development applies the same school philosophy of committing to developing the individual’s abilities through specialist tutoring and applying a process of learning using the building blocks of art making. Adult students bring with them a developed personality, personal knowledge, experience and defined opinions that demands individual attention. The sequential development of creativity empowers the student to progress at their own pace through the art leaning journey and progress is often mapped through a sketch book-based annotation approach.
