This course will offer a chronological overview of the history of art, from the early Renaissance, c.1400, to early 20th-century surrealism. In illustrated lectures, discussions and museum visits, students will explore the making and meaning of painting, sculpture and graphic works, with reference to their historical background. As former Print and Old Master Picture specialist at Christie’s and other London galleries, the tutor will bring her hands-on experience and connoisseurship to bear on the course. Beginners welcome.
Natasha has an M.A. in the history of art from UCL, specialising in Dutch 17th century genre painting and in Italian Renaissance art.
