A hands-on course that builds drawing into everyday life. Working with a range of materials and using a variety of drawing processes and techniques. Each week you will look at a different aspect of drawing sometimes using paints. Suitable for beginners and experienced students.
This class is also available as simultaneous Zoom sessions
What the class will cover in the Summer Term
Week 1: 'Drawing the Still Life'
Week 2: 'Developing the Still Life- Towards Independence Practice'. This focuses on exploring ideas leading to a long, artist-led, project.
Weeks 3-6: 'Independent Project'. Working with the drawings and studies developed from the previous fortnight, artists are taught how to transform ideas into finished works.
Week 7: 'Exploring the Portrait'
Week 8: 'Self Portrait 1'
Week 9: 'Self Portrait 2'
Weeks 10-12: 'Independent Portrait-Based Project'

Dolph van Eden studied Social Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam and Fine Art at UAL Chelsea College of Arts. He has worked in the fields of theatre design, story board design for television commercials and art education.
