Through weekly demonstrations, offering group and individual tuition, students will learn all about the tools used in weaving by hand, and become familiar with the skills and language used in this ancient yet contemporary craft. Using frame looms initially, students will be able to explore a wide range of techniques in which patterns and images can be created, and transform yarn and or cloth into wall hangings, mats, and or works of art. Suitable for complete beginners.

Alan Oliver is a practicing handweaver and artist. He has a Masters degree in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Arts and has over 8 years of teaching weaving to beginners and experienced weavers alike. His work can be found in private collections around the world as well as the permanent collection of the University of the Arts London (UAL)
